Overview
This policy explains what happens with your data on mathtry.com. MathTry is a set of maths games for kids 8 to 12. The app is not released yet. This page covers the website and the first testers list. We will add the app to this policy before it launches.

Data we collect
Data you provide
- Your email address, if you join the first testers list. We use it for one thing: to write to you when testing of MathTry starts. We store nothing else about you.
You first get a confirmation email. Your address joins the list only after you click the link in it (double opt-in). After that you get one welcome email. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time.
Data collected automatically
- IP address for abuse protection: when you submit the form, your IP address is kept in memory for a short time to stop spam (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). If a technical error happens, our host's function logs may contain your email address for a short time.
- Server logs: our host keeps technical logs (for example IP address, time and requested page) for a short time. This is needed to deliver the site securely (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
Data we do NOT collect
- No cookies, no analytics and no tracking tools on this website.
- We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.

Resend and Netlify are US companies. Where data is transferred to the US, this happens on the basis of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
Data retention
- Your email address stays on the list until testing has ended, or until you withdraw your consent, whichever comes first.
- An unconfirmed address is not saved. The confirmation link expires after 7 days.
- Server logs are kept for a short time by our host and then deleted.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Get information about the data we hold about you
- Have your data corrected or deleted
- Restrict the processing or object to it
- Receive your data in a common format
- Withdraw your consent at any time. To leave the list, reply to any email from us with "unsubscribe" or write to hello@mathtry.com
- Complain to a data protection authority. For us this is the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA)
Children's privacy
MathTry is made for kids 8 to 12, but this website is meant for parents and other grown-ups. We ask kids to let a grown-up enter their email address. We do not knowingly collect data from children through this website. If you think a child gave us an address, write to hello@mathtry.com and we delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as MathTry grows. Changes are shown by a new "last updated" date.
